I'm a very active 69 year old male, married with two adult boys and 3 grand children. I attend my local gym 3 times per week and having been told one day that I had a good face for radio, I joined my local Sea Rescue group as a radio operator and subsequently became the group's secretary.
Well, 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with Spinocerebella ataxia and of course I was immediately devastated but thanks to this site I'm slowly coming to grips with it.
My biggest concern is "Have I passed it on to my children?
I understand that some forms of this disease is Non hereditary.
Please, any info will be comforting.
